Description: Abbott Nutrition has issued a voluntary recall of all Similac powdered infant formulas after a routine inspection

 

      

revealed the presences of beetles and larvae in the finished formulas. The FDA is reassuring parents that "these beetles pose[s] no long-term health problems, there is a possibility that infants who consume formula containing the beetles or their larvae could experience gastrointestinal discomfort and refusal to eat as a result of small insect parts irritating the GI tract."
