This recall is being issued by: Consumer Products Safety Commission
Recalled on: June 24, 2010
Description: Delta Enterprises is recalling 747,000 drop-side cribs sold between January 2000 and May 2009 due to malfunctioning hardware. When the hardware that secures the railing to the crib frame detaches or malfunctions, a child can become entrapped, potentially suffocate against the crib mattress or sustain injuries from falling out of the crib.
In addition, fixed-side and drop-side cribs that have a wooden stabilizer bar are also being recalled. If the wooden stabilizer bar is assembled upside down, the mattress is at risk for collapsing, posing an entrapment, strangulation and/or suffocation hazard for young children. Enter your model number here to see if your crib is involved in this recall.
Have this product?: The CPSC is recommending that you immediately stop using the crib and find a safe sleeping environment for your child. Contact Delta Enterprises at 1-877-342-3418 or by visiting their website to obtain a replacement kit which will immobilize the railing. For cribs that utilize the wooden stabilizer, watch this video from Delta to ensure proper assembly of the stabilizer bar.
