Baby Shower Invitations Made Easy

Are you in charge of throwing the BEST baby shower ever? If so, the baby shower invitations are a task high on your list of "Things To Do". Read on for tips on making this priority a breeze.

When creating a baby shower invite, be sure to include the following for the guest:

  • The expecting mom's full name.
  • The date and time of the party.
  • The location of the party.
  • Instructions on how to RSVP (i.e. RSVP phone number, email address, or Reply Card). It's always a good idea to include a RSVP deadline so you can make sure you have enough food, drinks, and party favors.
  • Where the expectant parents are registered for gifts.
  • If the baby shower is a surprise, it's always good to let the guests know so no one spoils the surprise.
When should shower invitations be sent?
Baby showers are typically held early in the third trimester (around the 7th or 8th month of pregnancy) when the expecting mom can still move around comfortably. Once the date of the shower is known, send invitations to the party guests approximately a month before the event. For family members traveling from out of town, sending out invitations earlier will allow for enough time to make appropriate travel arrangements.
Remember to discuss the guest list with the parents-to-be. If a specific attire is required for the party (i.e. costumes, formal, casual, etc), be sure to let the guests know when sending the shower invites.
Creating a baby shower invite is incredibly easy these days. Baby shower invites can be created online, with do-it-yourself invitation kits, or you can leave it up to a pro to take over the design and printing. Your availability, time constraints, finances, and creativity will influence the avenue you choose for creating the perfect shower invitation.
Below are a few designs to help you get your creative juices flowing. And if you send these through email (GO GREEN!), the guests will enjoy a unique, animated, musical invite.
